Abstract

Keywords: Factors of Anxiety, Anxiety, Speaking and Mixed Reseach Methods. This study was aimed to identify the factors that cause language anxiety in Khozainul Ulum Senior High School students, faced by Eighth semester students, majoring in English Language Education at the Islamic University of Darul Ulum Lamongan. This study used a quantitative approach using a questionnaire technique. Twenty five students who were selected to be respondents in this study and their perceptions were analyzed see what factors cause anxiety to speak. The questionnaire was distributed directly. After getting the data, the researcher then analyzed it statistically by processing data using the SPSS application version 25. The results of the study found language anxiety faced by students during the teaching and learning process. Anxiety felt by students are (1) fear of communication, (2) anxiety of text (3) fear negative social evaluation.So, this study can help readers to have knowledge of the fear of speaking English. The researcher the study can conclude that most eleventh graders students of SMA KHOZAINUL Ulum Bojoasri still feel anxious when talking. According to students there are various factors contribute to their anxiety.
