Abstract

Keywords: Wattpad, learning media, reading skill This study discusses the use of Wattpad as a learning media to improve in reading skills of the students of senior high school of complex F. The purpose of this study was to know the understanding of the reading skills of students in using Wattpad as a learning media and to describe the improvement of reading skills through Wattpad as a learning media for the students of senior high school complex F. The research method used in this study is the descriptive qualitative method. The research subjects were students of Senior High School complex F and the object was improving in reading skills through Wattpad as a learning media. The data collection techniques used observation, test, and interview in the form of multiple-choice questions test results, and interviews using Wattpad as a learning media. The results of this study prove the use of Wattpad as a learning media was very appropriate to improve in Reading skills. The use of Wattpad as a learning media the students of senior high school have also classification as very good with the average value was obtained 77.75%. This can be proven by the excellent classification obtained 7 students, then 7 students got very good classifications, 5 students got good classifications, 1 student more than enough classification and no student obtained has enough classification. This media was very appropriate when used as a learning media for improvement in reading skills. The students use Wattpad their reading skills are more improved than before. The researchers suggest providing adequate facilities to improve teaching and learning activities for the better and using methods, strategies in conducting learning media. It is done to attract students' attention in learning so that student learning outcomes can increase more.
