Abstract
The movie has an important influence in providing information and information as a tool to convey messages to the public both positive and negative depending on the audience because movies are shown to the audience with visualization and moral values are values that express ideas about what a good life should be. This study aimed to find out the types of moral values in the “Turning Red ” movie and to describe moral values that occurred in the “Turning Red ” movie. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative. The subject of this study is Turning Red movie by Domee Shi. Data collection techniques are done by watching movies, reading scripts, and taking notes. The data were analyzed using the descriptive qualitative technique which is a research procedure with the results of descriptive data presentation on each dialogue in the script of the Turning Red movie. As the result of this study, the researcher found there were 42 total data dialogue found and ten moral values, and there were responsibility, tolerance, wisdom, never give up, altruism, love and loyalty, respect, help each other, courage, and self-discipline. And the type of moral value altruism, love and loyalty was the most numerous of other types of moral values. This means that the movie tells about altruism and love and loyalty, where altruism, love, and loyalty between Meilin’s parents and friends and family of MEILIN’s elders who also care for each other.
