Abstract
Analysis Of The Impact Of Rainy Season On The Income Of Msmes At The Town Square Lamongan Street Vendors, Defi Indriyani, Azus Shony Azar, Nasikan, 2024, Prodi Manajemen, Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Islam Darul ‘Ulum Lamongan. ABSTRACT Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in driving the local economy in Indonesia, especially through the existence of the Small Market (PKL) in Alun-Alun Lamongan. PKL is not only a place to sell, but also a significant center of activity for MSMEs actors in running their businesses. Traders in the Small Market depend on daily activities there to earn sufficient income. In this context, this study focuses on how changes in seasons, especially the rainy season, affect the operations and income of MSMEs in the Small Market. From the results of the analysis conducted, it was revealed that unfriendly weather conditions, such as heavy rain, can cause a decrease in income of up to 50%. This is due to damage to merchandise due to rainwater and a decrease in the number of visitors coming to the market. For example, clothing traders may experience major losses because the clothes they sell become wet and cannot be sold. In addition, food traders will also experience a decrease in sales because bad weather makes visitors reluctant to linger in the market. To face this challenge, MSME owners in the Small Market must have a strong adaptation strategy. They started modifying their carts to be more closed or using tents as a preventive measure against rain. In addition, some of them also extended their operating hours to attract more customers even though the weather was not friendly. With efforts like this, MSMEs can survive and operate even though they are faced with unfavorable weather conditions. This study uses a descriptive approach by conducting interviews and direct observations of MSMEs. This was done to better understand the impact of the rainy season on the social and economic aspects of small and medium business owners in the Alun-Alun Lamongan Small Market. Through this study, we can see how important the role of MSMEs is in the local economy, but also how important it is for them to be able to adapt to changes in the seasons and other challenges that may occur. Thus, MSMEs in the Small Market are not only business actors, but also an inseparable part of the dynamics of the local economy. Keyword : Rainy season, income, MSMEs
