Abstract

Money is an essential means of exchange in the modern economy, functioning as a medium of exchange, a unit of calculation, and a store of value. Types of money can be categorized into commodity money, paper money, and digital money. Money, which is in the form of valuable commodities, has an intrinsic value, while banknotes and coins function as a representation of value issued by monetary authorities. In the digital era, the emergence of electronic money and digital payment systems has changed the way transactions are carried out, offering convenience, speed, and efficiency. This research aims to analyze various types of money and existing payment systems, as well as their impact on the economy. By understanding the role and characteristics of each type of money, it is hoped that it can provide a better insight into the dynamics of the global financial system.
