Abstract
This article describes the role of the Government in supervising prices and market systems in Indonesia. Islamic economics views that the market, the State/Government, and individuals are in balance (iqtishad) there should be no distance between them, so that one becomes dominant over the other. The government as the holder of control has a role to supervise prices and market systems. In the market mechanism, norms and ethics have been given to market players who are role models for them so that the internal supervisory function can apply to each individual. The market mechanism does not only prioritize a system of obedience to norms and ethics alone, but emphasizes that the role of the government has a role to supervise so that the market stands on the principle of free competition (perfect competition). However, this does not mean that freedom is absolute. The government regulates the market system and establishes regulations that are used as references by market players in supervising the price system.
