Abstract
The purpose of this scientific research is to find out how monetary standards exist in Indonesia. Monetary standards are the legal rules that govern the practices and customs underlying the use of money in an economic system. There are several types of monetary standards, such as goods standard, twin standard, and trust (paper) standard. The monetary standard currently applied in Indonesia is the paper money standard, which refers to the regulations and policies that govern the use of money and monetary policy. Bank Indonesia, Indonesia’s central bank, is responsible for formulating and implementing monetary policy. Indonesia has a sharia monetary system, which is based on Islamic law. Sharia currency does not use interest rates. The method used to write this article is qualitative research and involves a literature study or literature search using journals or scientific works as the main source.
